Why This Site Exists

Why we created this site and what problem we’re trying to solve. Lots of skilled IT folks are stuck relying on just their day job for income. We think there’s a better way to use those skills.

Every day, ordinary people become millionaires. Meanwhile, many seasoned, capable IT professionals hold rewarding enterprise jobs but haven’t found a path to financial freedom. We built this site to figure out how to close that gap.

The Untapped Potential

As IT pros, we’ve spent years mastering complex systems and solving tough problems for our employers. Yet most of us rely on a single source of income: our day job. Meanwhile, everyday people are finding creative ways to build side incomes, some even hitting seven figures.

The LLM Advantage

Starting a couple of years ago, everything changed. Large language models, or LLMs, can help us be 4x, 5x, or even more productive. Tools like GitHub Copilot help us write code, config, and documentation in a fraction of the time. As IT pros, we can ask LLMs about any topic at any hour. The AI never tires of our questions. What a mind-blowing concept: an AI trained on all human knowledge is available to all of us 24/7 - for FREE in most cases, it loves helping us, and never gets sick of our dumb questions! That extra boost is a game changer, but many haven’t tapped into it yet.

Building This Site with AI

For example, we built this site over the course of about a week. We used ChatGPT heavily for brainstorming and structure. GitHub Copilot helped us generate, tune, and reformat content. We, as the human authors, had the final say on all content. However, “pair programming” with AI saved us significant time - even just the time it takes to write several hundred lines of text per-page. It makes tedious tasks much faster.

How It All Began

This site began after I spent hours talking with ChatGPT one day. We explored many career and business ideas, from side hustles to SaaS products. It gave me so many fresh concepts that I realized I needed a place to capture and grow them. That’s when I decided to build this site. It’s a space for me to organize my thoughts and share them with you.

There are nearly unlimited ways to approach this. This website will be an Opinionated Guide that shows a way to do this with a consistent set of tools, techniques, and technologies.
